The High Power SMA 905 connector features a stainless steel ferrule with a counter bore end face which allows the fiber to be in "free space". This significantly reduces connector failure due to excessive heat in high power laser delivery systems used in medical or industrial applications were transmission power is greater than 100 Watts.
The stainless steel flange is constructed in two parts. The flange back part functions as a heat sink, conducting exessive heat away from the fiber, thus further reducing the possibility for damage on the fiber.
The HP-SMA 905 connector is available with inside hole diameters from 200um to 1200um. Custom ID sizes are available.
